Mrs Patricia Randon retired as Chair of 1181 (Syston) Squadron Civilian Committee in June.

It was decided to hold a parade and march past in her honour. The Wing Commander, Nigel Dickinson OBE and Squadron Leader Andy Pass were specially invited to attend the evening. The evening co-incided with the Enrolment of 9 new Cadets to the Squadron, so lots of people were in attendance.
Mrs Randon was asked to hand out bibles to the new Cadets for the last time and she also was asked to take the salute alongside Wing Commander Dickinson. After a short break, during which, tea and cakes were served, Mrs Randon was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Cdt Laura Beard presented the flowers on behalf of Staff, Cadets and Civilian Committee.

The Wing Commander went on to thank Pat for all her hard work throughout the Wing, helping out other Squadron Chairmen as when needed. He then presented Pat with a plate which has been named after her. The Pat Randon trophy will be awarded for the Squadron achieving the highest media scores over a year. Pat said after the event "I am totally overwhelmed by everything tonight. I have never had anything named after me before. keep up the good work everyone." The Whole Squadron owe Pat a huge Thank you for all the hard work she has put in over the years. We would also like to welcome Mrs Sharon Burgin to the role of Civilian Committee Chairman. We are sure she will fill the large shoes left by Pat!
