The Wing has been allocated 13 cadet places at the ‘Super Camp’ at STANTA The Stanford Training Area on 15th - 21st July.
Not much information on this yet;· All accommodated at STANTA training area (hardened accom). A mixture of blue and green activity to include section visits (RAF Marham, RAF Honington, RAF Waddington, RAF Coningsby and RAF Cranwell), shooting, flying, AT, FT and other blue camp activities……..no doubt including drill.
The Cadet Development Team will be running a JCC on the weekend of Fri 31 Mar to Sun 2 Apr. The weekend focuses on camp craft and fieldcraft skills and is a great opportunity to experience life on an RAF base, particularly for those who have never been on an Annual Camp before.
To be eligible you must be at least first class cadet and aged 13 or above.

Join us for a week of amazing activities from 17 to 22 April at HMS Bristol, Portsmouth.
The cost of the camp is £125 which includes all activities (including watersports day, visits to NATs Swanwick, RNAS Yeovilton and HMNB Portsmouth, Bowling, Historic Dockyard visit, harbour boat tour and much more), camp t-shirt, accommodation, food, transport, HMS Bristol badge and camp photo.
Still 8 cadet places available for this fantastic fieldcraft based camp at the 20 Armoured Brigade, Sennerlager Camp in Germany.
Must be 15 and have attended at least one UK annual camp. You must also have a current passport with at least 6 months before expiry from the 5th August 2017 and a European Health lnsurance Card.

Due to the cancellation of our allocated camp, Wing have confirmed to me today that if you'd like to bid for any of the other Annual Camps, you can put your name forward as a reserve.
Therefore, the camps on offer are:
RAF Halton - 22 to 29 Jul
RAF Valley (Regional Camp) - 22 to 29 Jul
RAF Valley (I will be Camp Commandant for this camp) - 29 Jul to 5 Aug
RAF Spadeadam - 19 to 26 Aug
RAF Wittering - 14 to 21 Oct

Recently, I had the privilege of attending RAF High Wycombe in Walters Ash for a week. Home to Headquarters Air Command, it has been the most educational experience I have had so far in my cadet career.
Cadets from 1181 (Syston) Squadron ATC spent an enjoyable evening viewing the Moon. stars and planets with the assistance of Melton Astronomy Society.
Funding for Overseas Camps
Thanks to the commitment of our Civilian Committee and their fundraising we are able to offer a one off payment of up to £200 to help towards the cost of any overseas camp.
To apply for funding :
- The Cadet must have been enrolled at 1181 (Syston) Squadron for at least 12 months
- They have supported with at least five Fund Raising events within the last 12 months
- Have a good attendance record
Must have already been on at least one UK Camp
Funding must be applied for to allow sufficient time to be approved before camp commences
Application forms are available from the Adjutant.
Please note: If the application is approved by the Civilian Committee the money will be paid directly to the Camp organiser.
